SIM-BIOCene

Sim-biocene is a simulation of a symbiotic relationship between human, nature and technology. In order to refuse our destructive nature, we need to reimagine a way of existing in harmony without hierarchy. During the exhibition a sensory, participatory ecosystem fills the entire space. Visitors can walk through the installation, but gallery operations will be blocked.

Over the course of 2 months, the wheatgrass grows from seed to juicy vegetation. Electromagnetic field sensors pick up changes in the space and the presence of visitors which in turn will trigger an irrigation system to water the seedlings. At the finnissage of this exhibition the grass is harvested and cold pressed into health shots which the public can enjoy and benefit from.
